Stadtwerke Pirmasens Verkehrs GmbH has commissioned the software company AMCON to implement a new on-board solution for its buses. A total of 17 vehicles will be equipped with the UFHO system by May 2020 at the latest. In addition, a stationary pre-sale system will be set up, and two more on-board units will be delivered as replacements. “Winning a new customer is always a great achievement, and we’re very pleased to have won this tender,” says Darius Rauert, Managing Director of AMCON. “It makes us especially proud that Pirmasens consulted our customer Omnibus Hassis in advance and received a good reference from them.”

On-board unit with barcode validation, traffic light control, and connection to the data hub

The UFHO on-board unit solution, featuring a driver and customer display, printer, and IBIS adapter, is a complete package for bus drivers. In addition to selling and validating barcode tickets, the unit will also control IBIS communication. The messaging function in the UFHO backend system ensures continuous communication between the control center and the bus driver, and the radio system will also be connected to the on-board unit. Thanks to RBL light, the vehicle solution is connected in real time to the central data hub, improving connection assurance.
“We look forward to working with AMCON and are excited about the implementation,” says Gert Steigner, project manager at Stadtwerke Pirmasens Verkehrs GmbH.
