Jenaer Nahverkehr commissions AMCON for advance sales

As part of a Europe-wide tender process, the city of Jena sought a new system for staffed sales. AMCON impressed with its modular and hardware-independent UFHO system and was awarded the contract. Next year, the software provider from Cloppenburg will deliver versatile pre-sale devices for commission-based retailers and customer service centers. Jena’s public transport operator is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Jena GmbH and is responsible for operating public transport services in the city.

Advance sales in Jena soon via AMCON's UFHO system

The system’s functionality includes not only the sale of tickets and products but also the payment of invoices from other Stadtwerke subsidiaries. The modern workplace setup is supplemented with cash recyclers, ensuring that sales staff no longer come into direct contact with customers’ cash. Additionally, the UFHO back-office system for Jena’s public transport operator will be equipped with a Patris interface. Through the new pre-sale system, all types of tickets can be issued either as paper tickets with VDV barcodes or as eTickets on user media.
