AMCON participates as a consortium partner in the HUSST4MaaS project, thereby advancing standardization in the mobility sector

Cloppenburg (February 4, 2021) – The open interface standard HUSST is funded under the “Modernitätsfonds” (mFUND) program by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) to improve data exchange between public transport (ÖPNV), environmental associations, and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) providers. As a consortium partner, AMCON GmbH is actively involved in the “HUSST4MaaS” project, driving the development of forward-looking solutions.

More flexibility through standardized data exchange

The increasing digitalization and interconnectivity in the mobility sector make flexible and efficient solutions for data exchange indispensable. HUSST4MaaS aims to adapt the manufacturer-independent HUSST standard interface to the specific requirements of MaaS applications. This facilitates data exchange between different mobility systems. Key focus areas include the joint tariffing and billing of parking spaces and public transport via electronic tickets, as well as the integration of the product and control module (PKM) of VDV eTicket Germany.

“With HUSST4MaaS, we are laying the foundation for seamless integration of Mobility-as-a-Service offerings and making the transition from private car use to public transport more attractive,” explains Malte Gerber, Business Development at AMCON. “Developing a standardized interface reduces errors, lowers system costs, and provides users with a convenient and accessible solution.”

AMCON as innovation leader and coordinator

AMCON GmbH’s role as consortium coordinator in the HUSST4MaaS project highlights the company’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions for the transport sector. Together with partners such as ITS Germany e.V., ALMEX, and the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, AMCON brings extensive expertise to the development process.

“With the HUSST4MaaS project, we are laying the foundation for sustainable mobility. Our goal is to support companies in public transport while simultaneously making it easier for end users to access modern mobility services,” Gerber added.

About the HUSST4MaaS project

The HUSST4MaaS project has been supported since January 2021 through the BMVI’s mFUND initiative with funding of 233,000 euros. Since 2016, the mFUND initiative has been promoting innovative research projects focused on digital, data-driven applications for Mobility 4.0. In addition to financial support, mFUND also provides networking platforms and access to the mCLOUD data portal.
