Sales, Display, and Verification of the Deutschlandticket
The Deutschlandticket has been available since May 1, 2023, and can be used nationwide for all local and regional public transportation at a fixed monthly price of 58 euros.
The simplified fare structure and the ability to purchase and use the ticket online have significantly contributed to the success of the Deutschlandticket. It offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen public transport (ÖPNV) in Germany in a sustainable way.
However, the introduction of the Deutschlandticket alone is not enough. Especially for transport companies, certain preparations are required—both from a technical and a business perspective. Additionally, due to the issuance formats (chip card and barcode), the short cancellation notice, and possible transitions to semester or job tickets, up to 10% of users may switch each month.
A user-friendly portal and the ability to provide the ticket via app or wallet link can ensure a fast and efficient distribution process. Fraud attempts can be prevented through various methods, such as multi-level fraud detection systems or restricting certain payment options. Our control solution AMCON.MOBILE offers an additional layer of security.
Flexible, Scalable & Future-Proof
AMCON offers transport companies a comprehensive subscription solution for selling the Deutschlandticket. With AMCON.ABO, application processes can be modeled in the backend system and dynamically integrated into the customer portal. Adjustments to new requirements can be made quickly and independently.
In addition, companies can freely decide how tickets are issued—whether as a chip card, VDV or UIC barcode in apps, or as a wallet link via email. Ticket issuance as Motics is also expected to be possible starting January 1, 2026.
