AMCON is an innovative software company that emerged from a student project in 1992 and today plays a leading role in the development of future-proof software solutions for local public transport in Germany. Under the dynamic leadership of Olaf Clausen and Darius Rauert, we have grown from six employees in 2010 to over 200 highly qualified colleagues.

Innovative solutions for local public transport
AMCON deals intensively with the challenges and opportunities of local public transport. Our high-profile customers include renowned transport companies such as Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft, Hamburger Hochbahn and Stuttgarter Straßenbahn. Our aim is to make public transport fit for the future with modern and intuitive software solutions. We offer a broad product portfolio ranging from intuitive ticket vending machines to modern tablet solutions and sophisticated board units in buses. At the heart of our product range is the modular AMCON.SYSTEM, which can be individually adapted to the needs of our customers.
With the AMCON.SYSTEM, we enable transport companies to sell tickets at various points of sale, e.g. on buses or at ticket machines, and to check tickets using modern technologies such as 2D barcodes. Our solutions are hardware-independent and therefore flexible, so that they can be used on a variety of devices from different manufacturers without data loss.

Future-oriented promotion of young talent
In view of the noticeable shortage of skilled workers in the IT sector, our aim is to promote talent and retain existing specialists. In a job market where employees are spoiled for choice, we focus on incentives such as a positive working atmosphere and joint activities that go beyond everyday office life. In addition, we offer numerous apprenticeships and dual study places every year in cooperation with the IBS IT & Business School in Oldenburg and the Weserbergland University of Applied Sciences in Hameln. We welcome at least ten new apprentices and dual students every year and usually integrate them into our team after they have successfully completed their training.
We believe that promoting the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) at an early age is crucial to getting children and young people interested in careers in software development. We are therefore actively working on various projects to awaken interest in technical professions and promote the next generation.
